Mounting height
The bottom edge of the lamp should usually sit about 80–90 cm above the cloth (~160 cm from the floor). This gives even, shadow-free light and doesn't get in the way of the cue.
Light temperature and brightness
A neutral light around 4000K is ideal — bright enough to see the balls clearly without tiring the eyes. A warm tone (3000K) creates a cosier atmosphere. LED lamps are energy-efficient, run cooler and last longer.
